What does  “Dedicated Dive Resort” and  “Unlimited Diving” mean?

 

Some hotels and resorts advertise themselves as a “SCUBA Dive Resort”.  Unfortunately, most of these hotels only offer SCUBA diving as a small part of their amenities or activities.  Some may offer a SCUBA dive once a day, or may even use off-property dive operators or charge extra for diving.  A true “Dedicated Dive Resort” has SCUBA as the major activity.  They are usually located on or very near the water and have the equipment, staff and boats on site.  The cost of a stay at a dedicated dive resort should include all or most of your diving experience there.

 

“Unlimited Diving” means that diving is available all of the time during your stay. (Weather and water safety conditions permitting.)  In able to offer “Unlimited Diving” a resort must have direct access to the water and dive sites within easy reach from the shore.  Although a few hotels and resorts may advertise, “unlimited diving”, a guest may have to travel away from the property or the facility may offer unlimited diving during very restricted hours.
